 Autumn Term
12th December 2025: Enrichment Day at Parkfield
  Parkfield's children are preparing for a day full of activities to give them a glimpse into a variety of careers! Parkfield staff are sharing their interests through workshops in product design, cake decorating, 3D printing, teambuilding, jewellery making, printmaking and many many more! We even have some special visitors coming from the University of Birmingham and Stirchley Printworks to share their careers with the children. 
Spring Term
5th January 2026: Trust Training Day
  All of our staff across the Trust will be coming together this January to develop in their specific areas. Teaching staff will be learning about Equity in Education through the lenses of maths, AI literacy and storytelling; school SLT will be developing their leadership profiles by getting to know their teams using Colourworks; Office staff will be focussed on the Gold Standards and Midday supervisors will have a session on OPAL. It's going to be a fantastic day full of learning and development for all of our staff at Excelsior!
22nd January 2026: Green Meadow Financial Awareness Day
  Emmanuel Asuquo, a renowned financial advisor, entrepreneur and media personality,  will be visiting Green Meadow on 22nd January 2026 with NSPCC Number Day Senior School Fundraiser, Stephanie Coleman, to deliver an assembly to KS2 about financial awareness, followed by an enterprise workshop with Year 5 children. This will be a great opportunity for our pupils to consider maths beyond the classroom and connect concepts learnt to real life applications.  The engaging budget planning workshop will also lead pupils to develop their teamwork and entrepreneurial skills!
2nd February 2026: Children's Mental Health Week
  During this week, schools across our Trust will be focussing on children's mental health, and how we can support our children and families to look after themselves. 
6th February 2026: NSPCC Number Day
   In February, all of our Trust schools will be celebrating NSPCC Number Day. There will be lots of great things going on, including competitions, costumes and challenges, but above all children will be focussing on their fundamental understanding of Number!
10th February 2026: Safer Internet Day
  Safer Internet Day this year is focussed on 'Smart tech, Smart Choices'. Children in our schools will be looking at how AI can be used safely and responsibly, and how we can develop the critical thinking skills necessary to thrive in a world full of AI. 
23rd February 2026: Parkfield Careers Week
  On 23rd February, Parkfield will be celebrating their careers week- we have lots of exciting visitors who will be coming into the school to share their journeys, showing our children all of the choices that are available to them!
5th March 2026: World Book Day
  World Book Day is always a popular day across the Trust- we love reading! This year, each of our schools will be celebrating differently, with costumes, story times, visiting authors and book fairs, and children will be sharing their favourite books and authors with their friends. 
9th March 2026: British Science Week
  This year for British Science Week, the focus will be on investigative science. We will be looking in particular at the diversity of science, and how we can become scientists by developing our Habits of Mind in science.
 Summer Term
25th June 2026: Diversity Day at Parkfield
  Diversity Day is a fantastic community event where families are invited into school to celebrate their heritage. We have art exhibitions, dances, fashion shows and food stalls, and it is always a fabulous event. Make sure you mark your calendars early so that you don't miss out!
Friday 26th June 2026: Speak Up, Speak Out!
  Our annual Speak Up, Speak Out competition is back, and we'll be celebrating some fantastic finalists from schools across Birmingham at our grand final at Millennium Point. Last year's finalists will be hard to beat, but our year 6 children are already practising and are ready to demonstrate their fantastic Oracy skills! Find out more here: Speak Up, Speak Out!
